Triple A charity dog walk in Marbella
The Triple A charity dog walk takes place in Marbella every year on a Sunday morning in March or April. Enthusiastic walkers and their four pawed friends meet at the Plaza del Mar on Marbella’s Paseo Maritimo and head for the terraces above the Puerto Deportivo collecting money along the way for this popular charity. MarbellaAzul.com is of course there to bring you news, interviews and pictures of this wonderful event.
Triple A dog walk 2018
The weather has been unsettled here in Marbella throughout March and rain was expected for this popular event on Sunday 18 March. Despite this, plenty of walkers and their dogs turned up to take part in the annual dog walk to support Triple A – the Marbella based animal rescue centre. As usual, the Plaza del Mar’s Manuka Restaurant provided a welcome breakfast and drink for the participants.
Jan Weima of Triple A said “It’s difficult to know whether or not to bring the Triple A dogs along when the weather is unpredictable. Remember, they don’t go home to a warm, dry apartment like your dogs do. If one of them catches a cold, all the dogs at Triple A could catch it.”
Javier Peromingo Jimenez explained how difficult things had been at Triple A since the problems last year and they still need more donations and more members in order to keep the doors open for all of their dogs and cats.
About ninety people and their four pawed friends took part this year and about €1,300 was raised for this extremely worthwhile charity.
If you can provide a home for any of these dogs, please contact Triple A today.
Triple A dog walk 2017
It was a lovely sunny day in Marbella on Sunday 23 April for the fifth annual Triple A dog walk. Enthusiastic walkers and their four pawed friends headed for the Manuka Restaurant, Plaza del Mar on the Paseo Maritimo for the start of the walk at 11.00.
The dogs and their owners were all very well behaved as they got to know each other and put on their “Triple A walks Marbella” T-shirts. The Manuka Restaurant provided refreshments and cakes, along with a ‘doggy goody bag’. MarbellaAzul.com was of course there to bring you some of the images.
All of the participants were keen to get started and they set off at about 11.00 heading towards the Puerto Deportivo in the centre of Marbella.
This a popular event here in Marbella and helps get the word out about Triple A and all the things they do. At any one time, there are up to 500 dogs (and cats) looking for a a home. Funds are always needed to keep the charity functioning.
Triple A dog walk 2016
This year’s Triple A charity dog walk along the Paseo Maritimo in Marbella took place on Sunday 5 June. Participants started to arrive at the Terra Sana Restaurant in Marbella’s Plaza del Mar just after 10.00.
They registered their dogs, obtained their t-shirts and dog scarves (generously donated by Mascota Planet and Kristina Szekley – Sothebys) and treats.
Sana kindly donated coffee and cakes – a lovely way to start the day. Lily van Tongeren, who works every hour of the day as a Triple A volunteer, was there to ensure everything went smoothly. Jan Weima gave a short speech to welcome everyone and explain why its so important to support this event.
With everyone registered and fed, the walk began at around 11.00. They all headed for Marbella’s Puerto Deportivo where they then took a welcome break. Once watered and refreshed, the walk continued along the Paseo Maritimo and then returned to the Terra Sana Restaurant.
The purpose, as always, is to let people know about the 350 plus dogs and 120 cats Triple A look after every day – with new ones arriving daily. They all need loving homes. With all the problems Triple A have endured recently, everyone wanted to show their support for their tireless devotion.

Participants registered and were given Triple A T-shirts to wear during the walk. They were then given free coffee and cakes with compliments of Terra Sana. Marbella’s Mayoress Ángeles Muñoz was there to support the event and even participated in the walk. She chatted with other walkers and the press helping to get the word out about the good work Triple A is doing.
The walk started at 11.00 am and everyone headed towards the Puerto Deportivo (Marbella Marina). The aim of the walk is to make the people of Marbella aware of Triple A and let them know that there are currently over 400 dogs at their shelter desperately needing a loving home. The dogs needing a home were wearing green neck scarfs with the words “adopt me” on them. It was an ideal opportunity for prospective owners to see the dogs interacting with other dogs and people. We have to say, they all behaved very well!
On arrival in the Puerto Deportivo, the walkers were given a welcome drink courtesy of the Nutty Bar before heading back along the Paseo Maritimo to the Plaza del Mar.
MarbellaAzul.com’s Brian is of course an ex-Triple A dog and we are therefore keen to support this extremely worthwhile Marbella charity.
