Seal concert rocks Puente Romano

Marbella is renowned for hosting concerts in the summer months. This week was no exception, when the beautiful setting of the Puente Romano Tennis Club hosted one of the world’s most talented singers, Seal.

Attracting a sell-out audience, the 1990’s singer delivered a spectacular ensemble of famous hits, music from his new album “Seven” and cover songs from his appearance in the American music television special “The Passion – New Orleans.”

With the support of singer/songwriter Paul Maxwel having done a superb job of warming up the crowd, Seal took to the stage and kept up the momentum as he launched into his first hits “Crazy” and “Killer” to which most of the audience were on their feet dancing. Then, to show off his musical diversity, he calmed down the pace and mesmerized the crowd with powerful performances of “Do you ever” and “Waiting for you.”

Randomly chatting with the audience between songs, Seal surprised the whole arena when he left the stage and began singing amongst his adoring fans. After telling one concert goer how beautiful she was, he then kissed her on the cheek and dedicated a song to her before standing on a chair and belting out another classic track “Don’t Cry.”

After introducing Novak Djokovic (who happened to be here training) to huge applause and raptures from the crowd, his show-stopper song was always going to be “Kiss from a Rose”, still rated as one of the finest songs to ever grace a movie soundtrack.

Having dedicated the final song to the tennis ace, the evening drew to a close with the roar of the audience confirming why he is still such a popular artist after three decades in the music industry.

Crazy Music Productions will continue their summer programme of concerts with performances from the Kaiser Chiefs on the 6 August in Torremolinos and Simply Red on the 18 August at the Castle in Fuengirola.

Seal concert at Puente Romano – summer 2016

Yes, he’s back in Marbella! Six years after his magical appearance at the Marbella Bullring, Seal will be performing here again this summer at the Hotel Puente Romano Tennis Club on 18 July. Tickets are now on sale Click Here and we hear they’re going fast.

Seal was born in Paddington, London in 1963. In the 1980s, he sang in local clubs and bars, and in 1987 he joined a British funk band called Push and went on tour with them to the far east. In Thailand he joined a blues band for a while before separating from the group and travelling throughout India on his own. On his return to the UK, he asked a friend “Do I sing well?” and he was told he was better than most current artists.

His break came when he met the acclaimed record producer Adamski. He sang on Adamski’s hit “Killer” and it went right to the top of the charts in 1990.

He has become an internationally renowned singer/songwriter with albums like “Human Being” and hits like “Crazy,” “Prayer for the dying” and “Kiss from a rose”, which was on the “Batman forever” soundtrack. This song won a Grammy for Song of the Year and Seal won for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

This year’s concert in Marbella will celebrate 25 years in the music business. And his ninth album “7” reunites him with his long-time collaborator, producer Trevor Horn.
