Everything you need to know about Marbella

Parque de Alameda Marbella

The Parque de Alameda (Alameda Park) is in Marbella´s town centre between the Avenida Ricardo Soriano and the Avenida del Mar. It  is probably best known for its beautiful Virgen del Rocio fountain and its botanical gardens.

See Video Below:

The oldest park in what is known as the ‘historic green zone’. The first existing data on the opening of the park dates back to the 18th century. It is a typical urban park with marble walkways filled with trees. You will find some beautiful ceramic benches under huge banana palms, all depicting views of the town. This park is a favorite in the heart of summer as there is always welcome shade and you will no doubt be impressed by the central fountain – the Fuente Virgen del Rocio built in 1762.

Most things happen around this park during Christmas, when you will find Santa’s house and the Nativity and during the Feria when there is dancing and music. Many organizations hold fiestas and exhibitions here throughout the year.
