Museo Ralli is located in the heart of the Costa del Sol on the “Golden Mile” between Marbella’s town centre and Puerto Banús.
We are extremely fortunate to have one of only five Museo Rallis in the world and the only one in Europe. The first Museo Ralli was opened in Punta del Este in Uruguay in 1988. The second is in Santiago, Chile (opened in 1992). The third and fifth are in Caesarea in Israel (opened in 1993 and 2007 respectively). Marbella’s Museo Ralli is the fourth (opened in 2000).
The building has been completely renovated and features ten spacious galleries. The permanent exhibition is in two parts. You will find here a large collection of works by contemporary artists from Latin America enabling you to get an idea of the different artistic styles found on this continent.
They also highlight the presence of surrealist authors in this part of the exhibition – great exponents of Latin American art inside and outside the continent, includingRoberto Matta, Wilfredo Lamm, Ernesto Deira, Julio Silva, Jorgue Ortigueira, Guillermo Amengual and Gerardo Chavez .
In the second part, the paintings reflect the strong influence of the great European painters. You can admire works by European masters such as Giorgio de Chirico, Gentilini Fabriano Henry Moore, Salvador Dali, George Braque, Joan Miró, Alexander Calder and Sonia Delaunay, among others.
There is a collection of sculptures, including works by Dali, Eduardo Soriano and Mexican artists Mario Aguirre and Gerardo Quiroz, whose full size bronze sculptures are very impressive. There are also sculptures by Orloff, Arman and Beck. The aim of the museum is to provide enjoyment for the visitor with absolute freedom and privacy.
