La Sala by the Sea White & Gold Party
This year’s White & Gold Party was held on Saturday June 10 at La Sala by the Sea in Puerto Banús in Marbella. MarbellaAzul.com was of course there to bring you all the news and images.
White & Gold Party 2017
Twinkling lights, white feathers and gold parasols were all part of the decorations this year to celebrate La Sala by the Sea’s 10th anniversary. The White & Gold Party to open yet another summer season is hotly anticipated as it is regarded as one of the best on the coast.
It’s always fun to watch people arriving in their gold and white apparel – with most guests adhering to the dress code.
When the doors opened, the guests were welcomed with flame throwing jugglers and the always amazing stilt walkers. We say amazing because walking on stilts is hard enough, but watching them dance is is something else.
And the dancers in their finery were happy to pose for photos as they welcomed guests. This is one of the great things about the White & Gold Party. The entertainment is not just on the stage area. They mingle with guests all night.
As the sun went down, we enjoyed the backdrop of a truly beautiful sky and Marbella’s popular electric violinist Quike Navarro played his way around the venue with his magical sounds, followed by the incredible Jackie Brown Band who rocked the stage.
La Sala’s delicious canapes, served by their very friendly staff ensured that a wonderful night was had by all. After midnight the party moved via transport laid on by La Sala to take guests to Aqwamist nightclub, where the party continued.
White & Gold Party 2016
We were as usual delighted to be invited to this year’s La Sala by the Sea “White & Gold Party” on Friday, the traditional start to Marbella’s summer season. The invitation promised a great atmosphere, live music and much, much more including canapes from their Thai inspired menu.
From the minute we arrived, the invitation started to live up to its promise with music from DJ Scott Strutton filling the night air. The venue was of course decorated with white and gold. Vases of pure white feathers and crystals adorned the tables and there were crystal and feather lights hanging overhead with white and gold sails around the central bar.
As people arrived, they all had their photograph taken and stilt walkers, a saxophonist and an electric violinist encouraged them to dance. Delicious canapes were provided and continued to arrive throughout the evening.
We have to say, having experienced many events of this kind, we have rarely been so delighted with the selection of canapes which included dimsum, sushi, butterfly shrimp with a mouthwatering curry sauce, wonton spicy shrimp, delicious deep fried brie, duck rolled in a pancake with sticky plum sauce, chicken satay and prawn cakes.
The La Sala staff moved through the packed venue, ensuring we all had a fabulous time. A special thanks to Barbie, the happiest canape server ever for making sure we didn’t miss a thing.
Suddenly, we heard the sound of drums. The amazing Menllizon Drum Duo had arrived and the guests were all clapping and chanting. This amazing drum duo’s expertise has to be seen and heard to be believed and the atmosphere was electric. They offered entertainment with sets throughout the evening, flanked on either side by dancers in golden cages.
But of course, in true La Sala style, it did not end there. We were amazed by the acrobatic skill of a mermaid whose pool was a huge cocktail glass and fire jugglers. And the music continued with the incredible Masquerade Duo who are extremely well known on the Costa del Sol.
We would like to thank La Sala by the Sea for a wonderful evening.
If you have not yet been to La Sala by the Sea, we recommend you pay it a visit. You are sure to receive a warm welcome and have a great time.
