Kaiser Chiefs in Torremolinos

Kaiser Chiefs in Torremolinos - August 6 2016

On Saturday 6 August, British rock band the Kaiser Chiefs played the Auditorio Principe de Asturias in Torremolinos – an event arranged by Crazy Music Productions. The band’s line-up was as usual Ricky Wilson (Vocals), Andrew White (Lead Guitar), Simon Rix (Bass Guitar), Nick Baines (Keyboards) and Vijay Mistry (Drums).

They played for just under two hours and included most of their hits including “Every day I love you less and less”, “Never miss a beat” (my favourite), “Everything is average nowadays”, “The angry mob” and of course their classic anthem “I predict a riot”.

They also included their own version of the Who’s “Pinball Wizard” from the rock opera “Tommy”. And they ended with their very first top ten single “Oh my God” – never been this far away from home!

I hope they enjoyed their brief visit to the Costa del Sol. We certainly enjoyed seeing them here!!!

Kaiser Chiefs in Torremolinos in August

The Kaiser Chiefs, one of the UK’s top rock bands, will be appearing at the El Pozuelo Football Ground in Torremolinos on 6 August 2016 – just one of the amazing concerts on the Costa del Sol this summer.

Over the last twelve years, they have had a whole series of hit singles including “Oh my God”, “I predict a riot” (named as one of the top 40 indie anthems by New Musical Express), Every day I love you less and less”, “Ruby” (a UK number one). “Everything is average nowadays” and “Never miss a beat”. They have also made five studio albums – “Employment”, “Yours truly, angry mob”, Off with their heads”, “The future is medieval” and “Education, education, education and war”. They have also won three Brit awards.

They are also remembered for their performance of the Who’s “Pinball Wizard” at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 and opening the Who’s Hyde Park concert in 2015. Ricky Wilson, the Kaiser Chiefs’ front man, is perhaps best know these days for being one of the mentors on the UK’s version of “The Voice”.

Over the years, the band has built a reputation as a great live act and appeared with many bands including the Foo Fighters, Green Day and U2. The only change to the original line up has been when drummer Nick Hodgson left in 2012 and was replaced by Vijay Mistry.

So, make sure you get your tickets early and we look forward to seeing you there in August.
