Sunday April 22 was dedicated to “black pets” at Triple A’s animal shelter here in Marbella. Why black pets? Well, due to a number of superstitions, black animals generally spend more time in the shelter before they find a “forever home”. The Triple A charity dog walk takes place in Marbella every year on a Sunday morning in March or April. Enthusiastic walkers and their four pawed friends meet at the Plaza del Mar on Marbella’s Paseo Maritimo and head for the terraces above the Puerto Deportivo collecting money along the way for this popular charity. Laude International College in San Pedro de Alcántara held its annual charity gala on 31 March 2017. It was expected to be their biggest and best ever – a tall order, but the staff and students pulled out all the stops.

MarbellaAzul.com and a few friends joined the amazing turnout for Ascot Ladies Day at the Boardwalk in Marbella to raise funds for Amusuvig, a charity dedicated to helping women and children who have suffered domestic violence.
Marbella played host to a charity run for the Lions Club of Marbella on Friday morning 15 April on the terraces of the Puerto Deportivo. In collaboration with Marbella’s Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) and the youth division of the Leo Club, funds were raised for the Comisión Española de Ayuda al Refugiado (CEAR).
We were very pleased to attend the charity dinner for Triple A on 12 March at Conrad’s Il Ristorante in Nueva Andalucia. The tickets were sold quickly and they had to set up extra tables on the terrace to meet demand. Over 100 people attended and over €3,500 was raised for Triple A.
This year’s Pinktober Charity Run was held on Sunday 15 November, starting and finishing next to the Hard Rock Café in Puerto Banus. It was as usual well attended by both young and old.
