Ascot Ladies Day at the Boardwalk and a few friends joined the amazing turnout for Ascot Ladies Day at the Boardwalk in Marbella to raise funds for Amusuvig, a charity dedicated to helping women and children who have suffered domestic violence.

As we have come to expect from Kara Robertson, the manager and owner of the Boardwalk who organized the event, the restaurant was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. The colour theme was white and purple. Fresh linen table cloths adorned all the tables. Cute little gifts were on the tables for each lady from the Bling Boutique.

It was just amazing to see all the ladies arrive and have their photos taken on the ‘purple’ carpet – more than 100 of them in their finest Ascot attire. The hats and fascinators were out of this world. It really felt like we were on the terraces at Ascot.

So, apart from enjoying a great afternoon with a lunch, there was of course the important aim to raise enough money to provide a psychologist for the children and a 24 hour helpline for the women. The ladies of Marbella did not disappoint. They raised just short of €4000.

A fun afternoon with amazing prizes being auctioned, donated by Aqwa Mist, Creative Marbella, the Arques Clinic, Que Sera, Galway Races, Aqua Arena, Kedma and restaurants including Uni, Serafina, Beckitts, Tahini and Porterhouse Grill.

There was also a raffle, goody bags and a fashion show with the most stunning array of kaftans and swimwear by Sera Jane.
