Everything you need to know about Marbella

Walking in the Marbella area

Thanks to the Senda Litoral de Malaga ( Coastal Path) involves 14 coastal municipalities connecting the coast going along the entire coast line.

This trail, which has already been used at some of its 167 stretches, is going to link some already existing infrastructures, such as walkways, bridges, lines and paths, and it will provide some new connecting structures made in cooperation with corresponding administrative bodies.  There are still many stretches to complete but significant progress has been made over the last few years.

Here are some of the most attractive walks to enjoy:

Casares & Manilva

6 kilometres available to enjoy from west to east. Starting from the Playa Paraiso in Manilva and ending at the Playa Ancha in Casares. A mix of paseo and wooden bridges connecting the two towns. You will enjoy seeing the La Duquesa castle and marina as the path passes both.

Estepona

Has an extensive paseo and a pleasant walk way which starts from Playa Andalucia almost to the mouth of the Guadalmansa river. Taking in spectacular views and landmarks such as the Guadalansa tower.

Marbella

Has an extensive paseo offering walkers and cyclists more than 9 kilometres between Banus and the Puerto Bajadillo (fishing port). to the east the Cabopino beach provides a walk of approx., 1 kilometre through the Artola Dunes reserve along the newly constructed wooden walkways.

Mijas Costa

Offers 7 kilometres from the Marbella boundary and Chaparral beach. There are many information panels offering details of the coastal biodiversity. Passing landmarks such as the Torreón watchtower in La Cala de Mijas and the small museum housed inside.

Benahavis

Located in the mountains Benahavis offers impressive gorges, spectacular pools and is ideal for those who enjoy canyoning. The mountains are also home to many different birds of prey so offering many good hikes and walks. Pass by the 11th century Montemayor Castle high on the highest mountain in the area. This is not a walk for the faint hearted but the views are spectacular.
