Places to Visit
There are hundreds of places to visit in and around Marbella. We have listed some of the main ones here in five areas – Central Marbella, Puerto Banús & Nueva Andalucia, San Pedro de Alcántara, East Marbella and Outside Marbella. We have also listed some of the main theme parks on the Costa del Sol.
A walk along the Promenade or Paseo Maritimo is a favourite with most residents and visitors. Enjoying the views take our walk and we will point out some interesting things for you to enjoy along the way. Or relax in one of the many bars and watch an amazing sunset.
Marbella’s historic and picturesque Old Town (casco antiguo) is a hidden gem with its picturesque, ancient architecture and maze of narrow cobbled streets full of boutique shops, funky art galleries, bars and eateries, the Old Town is almost like a village within Marbella town. The central attraction being Orange Square which is ideal for people watching while relaxing over a drink or meal.
You will find a guide to the Avenida del Mar with its amazing display of statues by Salvador Dali, lots of information on each statue. There is a brief history of Puerto Banus which is a must visit with its amazing yatchs and designer shops. Details of the two other marinas – Puerto Deportivo in the centre of Marbella and Puerto Cabopino in East Marbella. Along with the many parks in and around town the most central being the cool marble park La Alemada which has the most beautiful fountain at its center. This is very popular in the heat of summer as you can always find a shady bench to relax on. There are many others which offer childrens play areas for the little ones to enjoy.
