Going Green for St Patricks Day

Marbella has this week been catapulted onto the world stage after joining the Tourism Ireland’s Initiative of Turning the World Green for St Patrick´s day. Marbella´s best known Landmarks will turn Green for one week and will then Feature in the Global advertising campaign by Tourism Ireland. The Marbella Arch, Town Hall, Old City Walls, The Puerto Deportivo and several other Landmarks will turn Green from Monday 14th. As Part of this initiative The Marbella Arch will stand proud alongside some of the world’s best known Landmarks. With at least 200 buildings and Landmarks joining #GoGreen4PatricksDay the Marbella Arch will feature alongside Landmarks like The Great Wall of China, The Eifel Tower, The Sydney Opera House, The Empire State Building, Christ the Redeemer of Rio, The Pyramids of Giza and much much more.

This has been organised by the St Patricks Festival Marbella in conjunction with the Ayuntamiento de Marbella, AMC Projects and Robert Leja Photography as part of the Festivities been Organized by Tom Jennings of The Golfer Bar, Marbella and The Irish Club Marbella for the fourth Annual St Patricks Festival will be held here in Marbella, we will once again see a family-friendly celebration of St. Patrick’s Weekend here in Marbella.  This year’s event will be held on Saturday & Sunday, 19th & 20th of March at the Terrazzas de Puerto Deportivo de Marbella Right in the heart of Marbella. With attendances in excess of 10,000 people over the two day period in previous years this years event promises to be bigger and better with an Irish Flare to show that the Irish are the world’s number one at creating a party atmosphere to beat any other.

The event, which will take place from 12:00 to 19:00 each day, promises to be a fantastic day out for everyone, offering a range of activities including Irish sport, music, dance, storytelling.  There will be a particular focus on activities of interest to children and families, with the day featuring Gaelic games for Adults and children organised by Marbella’s very own GAA club, Costa Gaels. Live Musicians will be performing throughout with a selection of Irish, Spanish and International Entertainment.  Irish beverage products will be available for purchase at the venue with plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the day. Children’s Entertainment will be in the Form of Bouncy Castles, Clowns and much more.
