José González Bueno at Kasser Rassu
We are very excited that José González Bueno will be exhibiting “Hyperrealistic Unique Watercolours” at the wonderful Kasser Rassu Gallery in Marbella from February 1 to 29 2016. There will be a cocktail reception on February 5 from 20.00 with the artista and the Mayor of Marbella in attendance and music from the fabulous Luz Casal.
José born in Málaga, attended and academy of art to learn the fundamentals of sketching and oil painting. But the most important was to learn the theory of colour and composition. This is where he became interested in Watercolour, mainly because of the endless possible variations which can be achieved with Watercolours.
Being totally self-taught, studying the techniques of the 19th century British masters especially the Victorian period of 1850 and 1900. He also focused on Viennese watercolours in the same period and Orientalises in general.
José has more than 25 individual exhibitions under his belt since 1988 in Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Almeria, Granada, Seville and of course Malaga. Represented in London by Mathaf Gallery, and by Arthur Ackermann Fine Art, where he made a very successful exhibition in October 2010.
He has received many awards over the years receiving a First in Watercolour in the 64th Salón de Otoño de la Asociación Española de Pintores y Escultores, y Premio Talens. Madrid, 1997. Certamen de Dibujo Felipe Orlando. 2º Premio. Benalmádena, 1999 and 3rd Certamen de Pintura Ciudad de Málaga, de la Asociación Española de Pintores y Escultores, 1st Prize. Málaga, 2000.
José is the Founder Member and Vice-president of the Malaga Watercolour Association. He has done many works for the Spanish foreign Legion and one of his paintings was presented to H.M. The King of Spain Don Juan Carlos I in 1994. As well as several works being in the collection of the Royal House of Jordan and many private collections through out the world.
