Charity 10K run for Multiple Sclerosis in Marbella
The third Multiple Sclerosis Association of Marbella and San Pedro charity run took place this Sunday 30 August in the centre of Marbella.
There was a heavy cloud cover over Marbella and high humidity, but over a thousand competitors and a huge number of spectators turned up to support this popular event. MarbellaAzul.com was of course there to bring you the best images and Marbella Now’s Nicole King was there with the RTV Marbella cameras to report on the event for next week’s programme.
The 10,000 metre race started at 10.00 am with the competitors heading for the Old Town. From there, they went down to the fishing port and back along the Paseo Maritimo to the Glorietta fountain They then turned right, going past the Skol building and left along Calle Camilo José Cela, returning to the Paseo Maritimo by the Plaza del Mar. The finishing line was next to the terraces above the Puerto Deportivo.
The funds raised will go to the Comprehensive Care for Users and Relatives project. This project includes a qualified multidisciplinary team coordinated by social workers and comprises professionals such as physiotherapists, psychologists and adapted transport drivers.
