Ambrosia Gourmet Market Marbella
Thursday 23 July 2015 saw the official opening of the Ambrosia Gourmet Market in Puerto Banús, Marbella. More than 400 people atended, including Marbella Azul and RTV Marbella’s “Marbella Now” programme.
Marbella’s new mayor José Bernal, Manuel Garcia (Concejal de Fiestas) and Manuel Osorio Lozano (Concejal de Hacienda) were there representing the Ayuntamiento along with many other Marbellís lucky enough to get an invite to this prestigious event. Other attendees included the vice president of Malaga Ayuntamiento Francisca Caracuel and Patricio Baeza (Honorary Consul from Hungary in Malaga) offering support for one of Ambrosia’s partners who is Hungarian.
We all enjoyed the press call, posing for the cameras before heading up the steps into the building to enjoy a cool beer from Estrella Galicia and a delicious cool, light Rosé wine.
Then came the official cutting of the ribbon by the joint owners of Ambrosia Antonio Ortiz and Gabor Somlai aided by the Mayor José Bernal.
From Friday, everyone will be able to enjoy this new specialist market. The interior is stylishly decorated with fourteen individual producers, all offering delicious samples for us to try. The gambas are fresh and succulent from La Gamba de Oro. There is delicious pasta from Italy Pasta. Croquettes and Iberian ham from Joselito’s. All finished off with something small and sweet ‘mini cup cakes’ from the Boardwalk.
The music was provided by a traditional Jazz Band and Lexter gave a special performance at the end the evening.
Ambrosia is open to the public from Friday 24 July. Go along and enjoy this new concept making shopping enjoyable. You can enjoy delicious food in the restaurant or outside on the terrace.
