Marbella is widely regarded as the Costa del Sol’s jewel in the crown. It has been the pre-eminent holiday destination in southern Spain since the 1960s, offering a unique combination of modern style and old world Spanish charm. Marbella´s climate is legendary, with approximately 320 days of sunshine every year.
Some of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol can be found in the Marbella area. On most of the beaches, you will find friendly chiringuitos (beach restaurants) offering a wide range of refreshments and tasty snacks. Alternatively, you can take a long leisurely stroll along the amazing paseo marítimo (promenade) or visit Puerto Banús for a spot of people watching.
A visit to Marbella’s old town is an absolute must. The narrow streets, historic buildings, shops and galleries make it an extremely rewarding experience. The Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Square) with its orange trees, exotic plants, cafés and restaurants has an atmosphere you will never forget. And Marbella is of course famous for its nightlife, with plenty of night clubs, restaurants and bars to suit all tastes.
